THE TWEEN
EXPERIENCE
The
Tweens programming for 9- to 12-year-olds strikes a balance
between arts and sciences, mental and physical challenges, and teamwork
and debate. For wizard and muggle Tweens alike, this is the age of
questioning one’s identity within a group setting, and the Tweens
programming allows plenty of room for exploration.

Some of the Enlightening Programming & Activities for Tweens:
- In Advanced
Potionmaking,
practice the not-so-subtle science of brewing potions (don’t
worry -- there will be no crushing snake fangs or stewing horned
slugs
on the first day).
- Fill out your own star chart and explore
the facts
and folklore behind the celestial bodies that share a name with some of our favorite characters in Astronomy.
- Create
and act out your own scenes in the Beginners Fan Fiction
Workshop or learn how to sketch your favorite magical subjects in a Fan Art Workshop led by professional artist Tim Kirk.
- Discover what your hands reveal about
your identity
and your future as we practice palm-reading, fingerprinting and other
crime scene investigation techniques in Divination.
- Are you a chaser or a keeper?
A beater or a seeker? Learn the basic skills of the different Pennitch - E7's Wizard Sport - positions
and discover where your talents lie (you may bring your own broomsticks
if you wish, or you may choose one of the school-owned models).
- Compete against other houses in the Quad-Wizard Family
Tournament, where families must overcome physical, mental and social
challenges in record-breaking time.
- Invent your own spells - complete with wand movements and incantations -
in a Spellcasting
workshop.
- Attend a red-carpet, IMAX-3D showing
of the film Harry Potter and the Order of the
Phoenix with your family.
- Join in the many activities and games at
E7 PremiereFest
Friday evening, including a live podcast by MuggleCast
and a Wizard Rock
concert starring the Moaning Myrtles (see Family Experience page for more
PremiereFest details).
Special Message for Tweens: Practice
for E7 by solving the mystery hidden somewhere on this Web site.
Warning: it's not easy, and it's not for the faint of heart. Feel free
to involve your family in finding a solution, as the stakes are
significant.
